Guaran Feeder S.A. received from the Subsecretaría de Estado de Tributación (SET) the authorization as an electronic invoicing company within the framework of the Integrated National Electronic Invoicing System (SIFEN), so that, as of June 1, 2022, it will be issuing invoices only electronically.
With this new invoicing method, the company increases security and control in its financial and administrative processes, in addition to contributing to the welfare of the environment by significantly reducing the use of paper when invoicing.
What is e-Invoicing?
An invoice, as it has been traditionally known, is a document that justifies the delivery of goods or the rendering of services.
In recent times, the use of electronic invoicing has become more and more common. This is nothing more than a legal alternative to the traditional paper invoice.
The main feature of the electronic invoice is that it is issued and received in electronic format (e-invoice).
This last feature makes it necessary for both the person issuing the invoice and the person receiving it to have the necessary means to be able to read and use it.
Legal Framework
Law No. 4868 of 2013 on Electronic Commerce
An electronic invoice is an electronic document in XML format that has legal validity for all purposes (tax, commercial and financial) and is digitally signed by the issuer guaranteeing authorship, integrity and non-repudiation. This electronic document is approved by the SET through the SIFEN platform.
Article 32. Electronic Invoice: Electronic invoice shall be understood as the electronic payment voucher to be issued by the Suppliers of Goods and Services by remote electronic means to those who carry out commercial transactions with them.
Article 33. Validity: The electronic invoice issued by the Suppliers of Goods and Services shall have the same accounting and tax validity as the conventional invoice, provided they comply with the tax rules and their regulatory provisions.
